Basically she said I'm not special, but of the people she's interviewed, my experience is particularly vivid and rich in comparison. And she said she is currently studying Tulpamancy, and that what I described as my daily/spiritual rituals as an active mormon was very similar to Tulpamancy (edited)

Very nice, looking through it now, but this is more for like seeking survey participants and organizing experiments than sharing personal essays.

Hey all. Maybe five years ago I stumbled across someone's writeup of their hypothesis of the tulpa phenomenon being based around mirrors neurons and how we build internal models of people we know, using them for empathy, and likening tulpas to an advanced form of one of those models. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and possibly even have access to this writeup?

if I may ask

{ probably same reason as many others. having a depressed personality going in, realizing that being plural on top of that just adds needless tension. and i've already been away from life long enough. and strangely it doesn't feel the same as the concept of suicide as there's no natural response to resist. it feels a logical decision.

I'm really sorry you haven't been feeling well, and I'd hate to see you go. I don't want to tell you what to do, it's not my place to do that. Even though Cat and I have issues sharing a body, we figured it out. We have depression, but we're doing okay. It's not easy, but it's doable being plural. Depression can be pushed back, if you want another chance I think you deserve it. I'm sorry I didn't get to know you more.

that's the main problem i see with did or tulpa communities quite often.. if you have a mental problem, you very likely don't know what you are doing to help yourself, and doing tulpamancy will probably not help. If you want to solve it by creating a tulpa and asking people from the community questions, that's probably not going to work, because if you have deep problems, you are getting answers that worked for people that probably have been in better state of mind than you, and might not be helping you

then you end up with people stepping out, tulpa taking charge, and tulpa getting depressed as well. or disturbing posts about intrusive thoughts and talking about schizoid symptoms. i understand tulpamancers that have healthy systems might not understand the weight of it, but in my opinion, every guide should start with a disclaimer that if you have mental problems, you shouldn't be trying to solve it by tulpamancy, and you should seek professional help, otherwise it's irresponsible
